Ever think about why you started posting content or selling a product online?

Sometimes, it’s so easy to get lost in the work and forget the original reason you started:

Freedom.

Whether it’s financial freedom or time freedom, we wanted a life where we didn’t have to be glued to our screens.

A life where we can enjoy nature without worrying about all the emails and messages waiting for us.

This is what I was thinking about when someone reached out to me with a marketing question:

This got me thinking…the reason we started our businesses was so we could do things our way.

And doing things that fit my lifestyle (instead of fitting my lifestyle around my business) meant not answering these questions…at least not in the way you’d think.

It’s what led to this response:

What I did instead

In the past, I would’ve hopped on calls.

But since I had freedom to fit my business around my lifestyle…I figured it’d be easier to do this instead:

1. Go for a walk

2. Yap to my phone (shoutout to Audionotes 🫶)

3. Send Audionotes link to the other person

4. They get a concise summary

It’s way more accessible and ADHD-friendly.

Because here’s what it came out with:

• Audio file (to listen to while doing chores)

• Mind map (visual)

• Transcript

• Summary

• To do list

All from a random unstructured voice note.

Insights I gave to this founder

I think a lot of people overcomplicate things.

In reality, growing your business isn’t that scary or intimidating.

It’s all about:

• Understanding your customer’s problem clearly

• Providing a transformation

That’s what I always try to communicate in:

• My websites

• My emails

• My videos

A lot of people tell me they feel seen in what I say and write…because I deeply understand the problem (as someone on her 5th rebrand + felt stuck and behind for months bc she kept avoiding admin work).

And also because I believe the transformation is possible for you too.

You might think me making $14k with a course launch isn’t possible for you…

Or even me helping creators get millions of views isn’t something you can do…

But as someone who’s coached hundreds of people, I know it’s possible.

Hopefully you believe in yourself as much as I believe in you.
