exposing my course numbers

Ever wondered how much people make on their courses?

Today I’m sharing how my revenue changed as my course price changed - along with other factors like how many promo emails I sent and how many IG posts I made.

❗️ Disclaimer ❗️

These numbers are VERY much estimates. I made my business way too complex by using too many different platforms so the money is just spread out everywhere (Stripe, Stan Store, Lemon Squeezy, PayPal - which I’ll never use again lol PayPal is pain).

I had to count up some post analytics manually lol…so only did IG cuz it’s my biggest platform. I know I got sales from TikTok and YouTube based on students telling me though, but I have a way smaller following there.

Another caveat: I kept sales simple by just having a lead magnet (Notion template) to get people in my email list. There wasn’t really a nurture sequence - I just sent everyone regular weekly emails. I didn’t segment my email subscribers.

How Your Ads Will Win in 2026

Great ads don’t happen by accident. And in a world flooded with AI-generated content, the difference between “nice idea” and “real impact” matters more than ever.

Join award-winning creative strategist Babak Behrad and Neurons CEO Thomas Z. Ramsøy for a practical, science-backed webinar on what actually drives performance in modern advertising.

They’ll break down how top campaigns earn attention, stick in your target’s memory, and build brands people remember.

  • Design branding moments that actually land

  • Make ads feel instantly relevant to real humans

In 2026, you have to earn attention. This webinar will show you exactly how to do it.

Context: how I built my creator business

I went viral in Dec 2023 (3 videos that hit over 1m views). 2 of those videos got me ~60k followers alone (link for analytics screenshots).

Overnight, I gained around 14k email subscribers who’ve stayed on my list over the years, and when I launched a course in Aug 2024, some people purchased.

Dec 2024 I went viral again (1m+ views on IG/YT) and because it was more of an entertainment reel rather than an edutainment one, I had less followers from it. Nevertheless, it led to course sales.

In 2025, I went viral fewer times due to posting less (traveling). My funnels also weren’t great so when one of my vids eventually hit 1m views mid-year, I didn’t really do too much with it (also because my course was going through some changes).

You can scroll through all my learnings and posts about previous course cohorts in my previous newsletter articles here.

Course promo posts by cohort

My IG posts / reels promoting the course kinda lessened throughout the months. I pretty much ran cohorts whenever I wanted, and some months I was less excited about promoting the course.

Jan 8 I moved to more self-paced rather than cohort-based. However usually the deadline structure helps people so idk why I did that.

The numbers are course pricing

Landing page conversion rates

Notion landing page

Current landing page

While it seems like Notion converted better, I can’t draw proper conclusions here because I made a lot of other changes like:

  • Getting rid of cohorts

  • Adding a free course preview

  • Promoting the course less

Revenue per cohort

There numbers here are very much estimates - because they don’t include purchases from PayPal option and also don’t always include payment plans (yet to be paid out in full).

Usually, each cohort I get about ~$6k, and the Nov 2025 cohort is still around that number, but spread out over 6 months since I made the payment plan the default option.

Jan 2025 cohort only seems high but that’s because it was including all previous payment plans and it was self-paced so it was just ongoing enrollment from Jan to like…May or something (I forgot).

Other conversion rates

This is the average conversion rates across all cohorts:

  • Reel view to sale: 0.006%

  • Email opens to sale: 0.23%

  • Email unique clicks to sale: 14.11%

  • Landing page view to sale: 2.84%

Surprising correlations

There wasn’t a huge correlation between IG reel views and sales tbh. I probably need to set up an email nurture sequence or something.

However, the more I posted, the more sales I made…so this helps me feel a bit better abt reels views being down haha. Maybe ppl just need to see my course promoted multiple times.

I also posted more IG stories promoting the first cohort. I’m pretty sure I posted less IG story promos after…I forgot 💀 Should’ve tracked it better.

Totals

Based on my Stripe export, I made $51,355.47 USD ($71,897.66 CAD) from my main course (not counting other products, not counting PayPal revenue).

Note: previous charts only show first payment of the cohort rather than payment plans cuz it was too complicated 😂 so if you’re confused doing the math rn, that’s why it’s not matching up.

Overall, I made:

  • 48 IG posts → $1,069.91 avg per post

  • 33 promo emails → $1,556.23 avg per email

  • ~315 sales (there’s more but I’m looking at Stripe data only) → $163.03 avg per sale

From:

  • 82.6k IG followers → $0.62 avg per follower

  • 10k email subscribers → $5.14 avg per subscriber

Reflections

There’s a lot I could learn on optimizing the funnel. The course is also hell on the admin side (idk why I have 3 copies of the course: cohort, self-paced, and alumni).

But this is why I have conviction I can scale to 7-figures - if my messy systems can lead to this many sales, then once I structure things properly, it’ll be more compelling and easier to make the sale.

(Also bc I have a ton of testimonials quotes/videos I’ve been putting off editing…)

Anywayyyyy if a messy chaotic person like me can do this + make sales even tho I don’t post that much and don’t get that many views on my posts, I know you can do it too!

Thinking of launching a group coaching offer / community (12 months only, so the subscription has a clear end date) to help other creators do this cuz ik relying on sponsorships isn’t great -

Especially when we get older and wanna do more family planning (don’t wanna spend all our time on our phones).

Reply if you’d be interested in an ADHD content creator coaching program!

I’m thinking of teaching:

  • Going viral (UGC creators I’m coaching rn got 7m+ views this week)

  • Building a product

  • Selling authentically

  • Creating with confidence

  • ADHD friendly tips cuz I’m ngl, I still don’t keep a content calendar…I just cannot

Min. investment $1k/m!

Lmk your thoughts on the pricing as well. Always open to hear your thoughts!
