the reality of life as a content creator
messy behind-the-scenes of my life
“I’m not good enough. I don’t have millions of followers.”
“I’m scared to build a business. What if people call me a scammer?”
I know I’m not alone thinking these.
But I hope what I share with you today will help you rewrite the stories you tell yourself…
The messy behind-the-scenes
On the outside, it might seem like I have a lifestyle you want.
I took 2 months off to travel.
I hang out with friends pretty often.
I work maybe 2-3 hours per day.
But honestly…it’s been tough.
Reels reach is down.
Growth is slow.
Sales declined (because I was too busy traveling).
There’s this looming pressure and feeling of anxiety:
“How much will i make next month? Will it cover my living expenses?”
I felt like I stopped believing in myself.
What happened?
It’s not like I suddenly lost interest in being a content creator.
I was - and still am - so excited to share things I’m passionate about:
But I noticed a common pattern in my life tracking…
A lack of confidence
This is how I first realized it:
Back in March, I was panicking.
“I need to have an automated email sales funnel. I’m losing so many warm leads.”
But setting up a bunch of automated emails just didn’t work for my brain…
I was scared of the boring admin work.
It wasn’t exciting.
I felt the unfinished task weighing on me throughout the months.
But last week, I heard something interesting from a marketing expert:
“People want to hear from people. Not automated emails. When you’re just starting out, you don’t need complicated funnels.”
My shoulders sagged in relief -
No longer needing to carry the guilt of yet another unfinished task.
I realized I was spending too much time studying other people’s businesses,
Rather than digging into why certain methods worked for them
(And why they might not work for me).
Trust your intuition
When I looked at the months I made the most money,
It was always when I believed in myself.
I was focused.
I was excited.
I honed in on my strengths,
Not comparing myself to other people who were “better” than me.
And I think that’s the problem with a lot of marketing advice…
People see it as something to copy.
But rarely do we stop and think:
“Does this actually resonate?”

Til next week,
