- the numbers behind $1m revenue
the numbers behind $1m revenue
ways to make it more feasible
$1m might feel really far out of reach.
So I sat down and did the math to see what it actually takes.
The results surprised me…

Make Every Platform Work for Your Ads
You’re running an ad.
The same ad. On different platforms. Getting totally different results.
That’s not random: it’s the platform effect.
So stop guessing what works. Understand the bit-sized science behind it.

First: why did I calculate this?
Business is more of a mental game.
It’s not really about the skills you have at the start. Skills can always be learned or delegated out.
It’s more about whether you actually believe you can succeed.
$1m always felt so far out of reach for me…
I wanted to prove to myself that it was possible - and that it can be simpler than I thought.
So is $1m actually doable?
When I really break it down, I’d basically need to post ~3 times a day.
But of course that’s an oversimplification - the posts need to have the right messaging and positioning to attract the right people.
Here’s how I did my calculations.
(They’re not 100% accurate but it’s just an exercise to really see how possible achieving this goal is.)
Revenue and pricing

If your goal is $1m annual revenue, you need to make $83k a month.
Assuming your product or service is priced at $5k, you need to make 17 sales per month.
The higher your pricing is, the less sales you’ll need to make - but the conversion rate could drop as well.

Conversion rates

Let’s assume you can convert 1% of people who opt into your email list or contact you via DMs.
That means you need 1,667 people to be interested in what you’re selling every month.
But how do you find these people?
Cold outreach
Ads
Posting on social media
Events
Referrals
But of course not everyone who sees your offer will be interested.
Let’s assume only 0.1% of people who view your content will actually be interested.

That means you need at least 1.6m views on your content (if you mainly post about your offer) every month.
Post views
Assuming you get an average of 20,000 views per post across all platforms,
You need 83 posts to hit 1.6m monthly views.
Divide that by 30 days and you get an average of 3 posts per day.

Can posting 3x a day really lead to $1m?
The short answer is no 😅 Not unless you know marketing/sales well.
As I said, this calculation is an oversimplification.
I’ve seen posts get millions of views, but the creators make $0.
That’s because not only do you need to know how to get eyeballs on your content,
You also need to know how to convert them.
That’s the struggle many creators have:
They don’t like to sell. They fear being called scammy or selling out.
But you know what I think?
If you really offer something you’re confident can help others,
You’ll make sales a lot easier - and have the opportunity to change people’s lives.

imagine getting messages like this 🥺🥰 i was tearing up as well when i got this
