from an overwhelmed ADHD creator who regrets her choices lol
How is it already almost the end of October?
It feels like this entire month was strewn with a slew of broken promises I made to myself.
“I’ll finally promote this new offer for my business.” (I didn’t.)
“I’ll made a plan to post daily - maybe when I have a few hours this weekend?” (I didn’t.)
“This new project sounds so cool, I wanna try it even though I have 3 other big projects going on.” (It didn’t go well and I only slept 4 hours daily and worked weekends.)
But then I hopped on a call with someone (Reah) who wanted to do my Human Design reading…
I almost wanted to reschedule it because I was too busy.
But I’m so glad I attended, because it helped me see all the mistakes I made (lowkey related to my ADHD symptoms 😩).

What happened during the call (and the mistakes I made)
“Do you tend to overcommit to things?” Reah asked me.
That question set something off in me 😅
I immediately thought of all the abandoned projects I had to leave behind because:
I said yes to them when I was excited, and then lost interest/energy
I thought I had time for them but actually didn’t
I made a plan but didn’t have time to take action on it bc it wasn’t clear what my next steps would be
Looking back, anybody could’ve seen I was overcommitting:
Coaching an ADHD creators group on launching a course (helping each person create and launch)
Managing a 200+ person UGC program completely manually (I had to review 2k+ videos in the span of 2-3 days lol)
Researching, briefing, and editing 5-10 vids/week for an app
Moving to a new apartment (the wifi didn’t work for a few days 😩)
Pivoting my brand to be more business-focused instead of productivity
Making time for relationships
Cooking + cleaning + chores in general (didn’t have time to plan properly so had to go out to the grocery store basically every day)
But I tend to be too optimistic - not sure if that’s an ADHD thing.
Basically, I thought I had way more time than I did (time blindness?).
In reality, I had to stay up til 4am on weekends (rip 4 hours of sleep bc of morning meetings) to get things done.
And while I learned many lessons this month (especially about advocating for and trusting my intuition more),
It wasn’t until this Human Design reading call that I could finally see:
I was making poor decisions.
And I had to implement systems to improve…
How to create systems for better decisions
If you took my life tracking course,
You’ll know I do a prioritization matrix to score projects based on metrics I care about.
This is so I know what to focus on first.

But the thing is…I tend to broaden that focus to the top 3-5 projects instead of just the 1 project 😅
During this call, Reah suggested something.
“You tend to make decisions emotionally. Here’s what you could try instead…”
Rate how you’re feeling from 1-10 (10 being the best)
Write down how you feel about a decision or project you’re about to commit to
After a few hours, do this again
Repeat multiple times over the day
This was life changing.
People used to always tell me to “sleep on it.”
This didn’t help because usually I’d just wake up and make the same (poor) decision.
But having a clear, measurable framework with numbers…
That completely changed things for me because now I couldn’t stay in denial.
If my decisions changed based on how I was feeling throughout the day,
Then I probably shouldn’t commit to it because I wouldn’t have the energy to stick with it when I’m feeling low.
But if my conviction stayed no matter how I ranked my mood,
Then it’s likely a decision I wouldn’t regret.
