how I make money as a full time creator
especially on months I travel and don't work
“You’re a full time content creator? What’s your day to day like?”
I get asked this question every time I go to a content creator event.
When people hear about my travels (3 countries in the last 3 weeks 💀),
They always wonder:
Where does the money come from?
What’s actually funding this lifestyle?
Today’s sponsor 🫶
I started using Poppy AI to help w some of the content admin cuz otherwise it’s so hard to stay consistent 😩
I mainly use it for strategy/ideas and it’s SO HELPFUL. When I shared this w my content creator friends, they were like “OMG I NEED THIS” and immediately asked for my affiliate link 😂
Poppy AI pulls all my best posts and highlights key elements of what made them successful, so I don’t have to be drowning in spreadsheets. It’s probably saved me hours of time cuz instead of overthinking about my posts, I have a list of cool ideas I can run with.
I share the whole system in the YT vid above, and you can also check out the website to try it for yourself below 🫶
My purpose for sharing
It’s not just about the money -
It’s about the freedom.
Because the real reason why I’ve been to 3 countries in the last 3 weeks weren’t for me…
They were for my loved ones:
Australia - my partner’s there
USA - housesitting and dogsitting for my friend who just gave birth
Canada - restoring balance to my family (we joke that I’m the most calm/stable one cuz I’m year of the rabbit and everyone else is year of the dragon)
If I was working a regular 9-5, I wouldn’t have been able to drop everything to take care of people I love (even if it meant cleaning up dog poo on the carpet at 2am).
How much do sponsors pay?
It depends on the scope of work, but usually I get anywhere from $500 to $4,000.
But the thing about sponsors is that they’re not consistent.
Some people get really lucky and land recurring deals with sponsors -
But tbh, I reject like 90% of the sponsors that reach out to me (especially if I’ve never used their product):
Sometimes I straight up don’t wanna promote the company (like vapes?? c’mon…no thank you)
Other times it’s painful admin (contracts, emails, etc.)
So most of my income is actually not from sponsors…
What about courses?
I’m a HUGE advocate for creating your own products and selling them.
I have a payment plan for my course, so usually I’ll get $2,000 to $3,000 a month for 6 months after a course launch.
Plus, I know my course changes lives, so I’m happy to make videos about it.
So on months where I don’t do any work, the payment plans still come in and I’m able to spend more time with loved ones.
Or coaching?
This is high ticket and brings in the most - and it’s what I enjoy the most too!
I hear a lot of people hate on coaching bc it takes up so much time (weekly calls, daily messages) but I feel like it’s way more ADHD friendly.
I love talking to people - I just show up to the calls, share insights and feedback, and it’s so fun.
I wanted to share this with you cuz everyone online keeps falling for the passive income propaganda 😂
Like you see me with over $70,000 USD made from an async course and think that’s the dream because it’s “passive” right?
But the thing about me is that I want to see impact.
It’s not as rewarding to be so distanced from people - I want to be on coaching calls and share the positive energy and excitement.
It does take a lot of time and energy but it’s what I enjoy most - and it’s got minimal admin 🥰
Plus, the closer I am to people, the more I can guarantee their success (cuz I’m messaging them every day being like “heyyyy did you get this done?” 😂).
If you’re interested in working with me (especially helping you launch a course like my $70,000 one) - apply here! I’ll reach out if it’s a fit 🫶
Til next week,
Jennifer
