  4. See something others did that changed my mind about my plan

  5. Feel overwhelmed

Mistakes I made

Here’s what I had on my to do list:

  • Plan goals + strategy for next month

  • Go through feedback for my course

  • Completely revamp my course (and maybe split it into 3 diff courses)

  • Redo course landing page (on actual website, not Notion)

  • Create VSL (video sales letter)

  • Come up with a content plan

  • Create lead magnet

  • Write and set up email funnels

  • Improve messaging

  • A bunch more things…

I was trying to schedule everything and feeling guilty when I couldn’t get it all done -

Because I was overwhelmed.

But I forgot 1 thing:

Simplicity.

Example: $1m from TikTok + a course

There’s a manifestation/tarot creator I met a few months ago.

Her course sells for ~$200 and she has 170m likes on TikTok.

She said she made $1m from the course, so if I crunch the numbers:

  • 500 sales to make $1m

  • 0.0003% conversion rate from post like to sale (v low conversion rate imo)

And she had 0 email funnel, VSL, lead magnet, etc.

Example: $1m ARR from an app

The content strategy they used actually made sense in my mind - because it was fun.

They called content pillars “bets” (like in gambling).

It’s a bet because you gamble with each post to see how much the ROI is:

  • Your investment (time + money creating content on the topic)

  • The return (views, conversions)

How I use these examples

So I used this to set my own clear goals:

  • Timeline (now til Jun 30)

  • How many course sales (250)

  • How many views needed (5m views, assuming 0.005% CR)

  • Bets I want to make (7 @ 10 posts per bet, needing 71.5k views each)

This gave me clear focus -

No more overwhelming to-do lists.

My clear metric of success = course sales.

My habit every day = make a video that gets over 71.5k views on average (scary goal tbh).

I can worry about the rest of my to-do list later, when I need to increase my conversion rate.

But for now, my focus is to take action, gather data, and improve.
